ARNOLD DAY 2: UK WIN MORE MEDALS

Kristie Sanderson struck silver for the UK on day two at the Arnold Classic Europe.

Kristie was the pick of a strong British contingent in bodyfitness. She finished second of 17 in a stacked up to 168 cm class. Olga Upelniece, who was fourth in masters bodyfitness the previous day, made the top 10 in the same line-up.

Emi Wokoma produced another outstanding display to claim sixth in the over 168 cm category.

Mahmoud Elmawardy shows no sign of slowing down after a busy year. He won bronze in muscular men's physique up to 175 cm. Martin Dawes was sixth in the over 175 cm category.

There was further medal success for UKBFF athletes in junior men's physique thanks to Giuliano Mateas, who was third of 14 in the over 178 cm height class. Alex Woods was fifth in the up to 174 cm height class.

Young prospect Rebeka Tunegova narrowly missed out on bronze when she finished fourth in junior bikini fitness to follow her top 12 performance in her open height class yesterday.

Britain has now one one gold (Nick Swann), two silvers (Kristie Sanderson and Waldemar Biernaki) and three bronze (Austin Williams, Mahmoud Elmawardy and Giuliano Mateas).

There were some fine performances in masters bikini fitness, where Anne Bulmer, Alison Fernandes, Hajnalka Lipcsei and Becky Goodall all made top 10 in their height categories.

The amateur action continues this afternoon before the IFBB Elite Pro show takes place tonight. The stage is superb and it looks like being in a sellout in the presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
